Learning Beyond the Classroom!

Updated: Feb 1

At The House of Learning, we believe the outdoors is the perfect classroom—even without a designated outdoor area! Here’s how we creatively incorporate outdoor experiences into our curriculum to enhance your child’s development:

Learning Beyond the Classroom

How We Take Learning Outside:

Nature Walks: every walk sparks curiosity, builds observation skills, and teaches respect for the environment.

Water Play: Pouring, scooping, and splashing enhance fine motor skills and introduce early science concepts!

Planting & Gardening: Children learn responsibility and patience while caring for plants and observing life cycles.

Bug Hunts & Treasure Hunts: Exploring with friends promotes teamwork, problem-solving, and social skills.

Outdoor Yoga & Storytelling: Storytime beneath the open sky promotes language development and enhances concentration. A change in environment during simple activities aids in enhancing focus and attention.

Movement Play & Motor Skills: Riding tricycles, parachute games, and ball play develop coordination, balance, and gross motor abilities.

Why does outdoor Play Matters?  Boosts Brain Power: Outdoor experiences support cognitive growth by stimulating curiosity and imagination.

Strengthens Muscles & Motor Skills: Running, jumping, and being active promote coordination and physical strength.

Encourages Social Skills: Group play improves communication and teamwork.

Reduces Stress & Enhances Mood: Nature is proven to lower anxiety and improve emotional well-being.

How We Keep Your Child Safe:

Risk Assessments: Every outdoor activity undergoes thorough risk assessments of the area and resources used.

Close Supervision: Our staff ensures fun and safety go hand-in-hand.

Weather Checks & Hydration: We keep our children safe from extreme weather and ensure they stay hydrated.

Extend the Fun at Home!

  1. Explore parks, beaches, deserts, and wadis—outdoor learning opportunities are abundant and offer endless educational experiences.

  2. Plant flowers together and let your child discover nature’s wonders.

  3. Create your own treasure hunts and encourage curiosity.

  4. Let’s make every moment a learning adventure, indoors and outdoors!
